Keep Your Ears Open
Its not difficult to find yourself getting tired of mainstream music, especially when radio stations and night clubs keep the same songs in rotation.Hearing fresh new music is exhilarating! There are so many artists who are trying to make it but have yet to scratch the surface. My goal is to open my ears to new music as well and give these aspiring artists a little bit more exposure through my blog.
Young Sensation, better known as Chad Ware, has hit me up about his music numerous times before and when I took the time to listen to his latest mixtape I was impressed with a few tracks.[My favorite track is "Make It" ft Deus].His mixtape "Da Wake Up Call Volume 1" features songs that are relatable and as he describes it "music from the heart".While still trying to break through into the music industry Chad, like many other aspiring artists, has realized that their are a lot of "snakes in the grass" but still taking into account that their are also people who are always willing to help.He credits his family, friends, and his surroundings for inspiration musically.Take a listen to Young Sensations mixtape.
Before I even started my blog Ryan Barhaloo hit me up and sent me his latest song and my ears fell in love!Ryan definitely has a unique sound which I admire.
Ive known this kid since he was in middle school and its neat to see how he has matured over the years and his music illustrates that. Dante, who goes by YoungMac, has already recorded a mixtape entitled "Dey Know". His mixtape will be available on datpiff.com soon. Listen to snippets of "Next Level" && "Dreams". Everything he records is a "reflection of where he stands". Every song he makes tells an experience either he or someone hes met has had. Dante's favorite track on his mixtape is "Everything" which is a "testimony of his life up to this point". He strives on staying true and "giving the world 100% of who he is in the booth". What impresses me the most about Dante is his confidence, which seems like an essential characteristic to have and hes got it. "Being true to yourself is a value that you can't put a price on, a value that can never be matched or discounted. My value comes in the light of this music and I can promise you theres not a moment I will ever disappoint!".

Express Yourself
There is no doubt that we live in a digital age where remix culture has become rampant and recreating others work and making it your own has become more and more acceptable. The idea that creativity builds on the past becomes the basis for this free culture that encourages human expression through various forms.
Remix culture is an intricate element in music. Music may be the most common form of remix culture because of the ability to take an instrumental version of a song and add your own lyrics, there aren't much technical skills needed. Its interesting to see songs that transition across different genres. Take for example the song "I Can Love You Like That". Depending on your ethnicity perhaps you would say this song was by either John Michael Montgomery or All-4-One. Both of these songs were produced in 1995, Montgomery's first. His song reached the #1 spot on the Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts whereas All-4-Ones version peaked a #5 on the Billboard Hot 100.All-4-One took a #1 song from another genre and made it their own and landed more success for themselves.Although this accounts for remix culture, it is also labeled "covering".

Yuuup

When we first were introduced to Trey Songz he had braids and was just trying to make it. He jumped onto the scene not quite as successful as he probably would have hoped, but his recent album Ready has shown his tremendous growth as an R&B artist. Selling 131,000 copies in the first week, his album debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200.From 2005 Trey Songz has covered over 30 hit songs.
Weezy F.

Those who follow hip hop music are familiar with Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr, better known as Lil Wayne. At the tender age of 15 Lil Wayne was the youngest member of Hot Boys where his musical career would eventually explode.Living up to his self-claim as being the greatest rapper alive, he has continued to top musical charts with a "remarkable creative hot streak".Lil Wayne's success is due in large part to his mixtapes, which include Dedication 2 and Da Drought 3.His mixtapes in particular are what makes remix culture, remix culture. He takes recent hits from other artists and records his own lyrics. What better way to increase your fan base than to take another successful track and make it your own?
